I had the chance to be invited to a special presentation of a movie this week. This movie is presenting a kind of heroes that we don’t necessarily know about; it is telling the story of the heroes that live the closest to us; the story of the four paws heroes that are humanity’s best friend; this movie is presenting the story of dogs and how much superpowers they have.
Currently presented in IMAX theaters around the world, « Superpower Dogs » is a must see for everyone.
First, let’s talk about the movie itself! I really appreciated the fact that, even though the movie is a documentary, it didn’t feel like it at all. Everything from the way Chris Evans did the voice of Henry to the music and the camera shots gave us the impression to be watching a superhero movie instead.
Now, let’s talk about the dogs, one of the main thing I loved about the movie was that we got to see the way they do. Many shots were shown through the perception of the dogs, changing the field of visions, color spectrum, etc. which completely immersed us in the movie. Also, the fact that they modified each element one after the other instead of all at once gave us time to adjust to the difference which I really appreciated.
Now, let’s talk about the visual effects. I really appreciated that with animations and visual effects, they were able to make us learn all about the way dogs move and act in a fun and entertaining way. Each animation, although being about complex concepts, were presented in a way that someone from the age of 5 and up could understand them. This utilisation of the visual effects gave us the time to register the information without feeling overwhelmed by it.
So, do I recommend this movie? Yes! Definitely! I would have even taken another 3 or 4 hours of it! So, bring the kids and the whole family with you!
« Superpower dogs » is currently only playing in IMAX theaters and will be released next year in more theaters around the world!
